Brabant & Kretzschmann, Chartered Professional Accountants, has its roots as the oldest public accounting firm in Midland, starting as the Midland office of A.F. McLaren & Co in 1957, with the two Midland partners then going on their own as Hook & Carruthers in 1979. Dennis Brabant joined as partner in 1981 to form Hook Carruthers & Brabant. The firm continued on, seeing the passing of Wally Hook in 1997 and the retirement of Cleon Carruthers in 2001. Dennis Brabant continued the practice under his own name until joined by Martin Kretzschmann, forming Brabant & Kretzschmann in 2003.
The firm has always prided itself in providing one on one support, being available to and having a close relationship with its clients and ultimately, assisting in their success.

You may have noticed the maritime theme of our website. Along with being proud of the beautiful area in which we are located, being the gateway to Georgian Bay and the 30,000 Islands, we are also recognizing the area's long history of historical ports, shipping, and recreation. We feel this also translates a little bit into what we do. Helping our clients navigate through what may be choppy waters and around hidden rocks and shoals that come with operating a business.
