Dennis is native to Midland, with a strong family history in the Midland area. Dennis started his career articling with the Barrie office of A.F. McLaren & Co, Chartered Accountants in 1967 and moved to the Midland office in 1973, earning his C.A. designation in 1976. He then joined Wally Hook & Cleon Carruthers as a partner of the firm in 1981. Dennis is very active in the community, serving as former board member of the Huronia Museum and past president and treasurer of the Midland Downtown Business Improvement Area (B.I.A.). As the president of the B.I.A., Dennis was the driving force behind the Murals of Midland, which adorn the downtown area, along with the largest outdoor historic mural in North America on the grain elevators in Midland Harbour. Dennis, his wife Pauline, and their daughter, also own & operate Bayshore Lanes bowling centre in Midland. Dennis is an active coach and organizer of bowling in the Midland area.

Martin, originally from Sudbury, Ontario, attended Wilfrid Laurier University’s School of Business & Economics, graduating with his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992. He entered the C.A. program in 1989 and articled with Chan & Co., Chartered Accountants of North York, Ontario before earning his C.A. designation in 1996. Later, Martin served as Controller and then Vice-President Finance of Corporate Planning Associates, a private financial planning firm in Toronto. Martin and his wife Corinna (originally from Midland), moved with their two daughters to Midland to join the firm in 2001. Martin is also active in the community formerly serving as Treasurer of the Midland Canada Day Committee, is the former treasurer of Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County and was a member of the Planned Giving Committee of the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation.
